We made it, and it's all thanks to you!  Our surveys are ready to go out through Backerkit shortly, so keep an eye out for them.  We had a successful campaign, and we even have stretch goals to be added to the books! For fulfillment, two of our books are at the printers, and the third is on its way soon with the art prints, maps, and GMs screens, so you'll have those books in your hands soon.  Digital backers, which should be just about everybody, will be in a couple weeks, with book 3 taking a little longer for the new additions! We are ecstatic that you chose to take this journey with us to Bloodstone Isle, and stay tuned for the next book from Lostlorn Games: Badlanders!

You Made This Happen!

Okay, things are happening fast, we've hit our first THREE stretch goals: Jamison Stone, Nerdarchy’s, and just now the incredible Mháire Stritter! Now we are super close to our fourth stretch, with very talented Patrick Rehse of Stoneworks Gaming.

As you can see from the schedule above there is a lot more to come, and this is your chance to get on the ground floor of what many are already saying will be a classic series, just like the first printing of Vampire: the Masquerade was. These first printings will ALL be signed and numbered, as our marketing crew insisted we say: “instant collector’s items that you will be proud to own and display in the future”.

If you have the cash, upgrading to a signed and number physical copy is something that could only go up in value... when we accomplish what Mark and the TaleSpinners have set out to do.  Just like he did last time! FangKnight is coming!

Some of you might say: “But we live in Europe and can’t get good shipping rates. It’s cost-prohibitive! Again, we are happy to announce we will be shipping book rate directly from Germany and we will not charge more than 15 EU for shipping to any EU country, and our goal is to bring it down even lower.

Btw, we got our first review!

"This work is impressive in ambition and size; it’s not easy to find settings that manage to have such a clear overview while going so deep into detail... If your table loves a game focused on the mystery and on the horror that constantly hounds the characters, immersing in an intense and even strong atmosphere when necessary, surely The Curse of BloodStone Isle is for you." — No Dice Unrolled

Thank you, everyone, sincerely, for your support!

THANK YOU ALL! IT'S THE FINAL 36!

Yes indeed, we are in the last 36 hours!

We’ve hit our first two stretch goals: unlocking both Jamison Stone of Apotheosis Studios and Nerdarchy’s Dave, Ted, & Doug. And as we write this we’re quickly approaching our third stretch goal, the incredible Mháire Stritter. All of these stretch goals will appear in our third book (free to all as a pdf, in print to some), the BloodStone Covenant, along with Mark Rein˖Hagen’s storytelling secrets and a new fighter subclass, the IronKnight. Plus over a dozen additional adventures and all sorts of things we simply ran out of room to put in the Cyclopedia.

The Covenant is a book worth having on your shelf… and do consider what is going to be on your shelf. While the digital copies are great, these books have a purpose.

The Gazetteer is a great resource because you can give this to your players as an in-game artifact, a true treasure, for it is the journal of the scholar and explorer Adzquille, now gone missing. What happened to him? He may have left clues in his Gazetteer on how to find and rescue him. It’s a book you’ll want to give your players, and it’s a fantastic immersive read solely on its own.

And of course,  the Cyclopedia and Covenant are in the same low-rider format, which makes them perfect for use at the game table (or for reading on your lap). Honestly, there’s just so much in them that you’ll want these beautiful physical copies at hand to use. If you have the coin, they are worth upgrading too.

Pardon us for sayin’, but this is the chance to get on the ground floor of what we think will be a classic series, just like the first printing of Vampire: the Masquerade was. These first printings will ALL be signed and numbered, as our marketing crew insisted we say: “instant collector’s items that you will be proud to own and display in the future”.

Some of you might say of course: “But we live in Europe and can’t get good shipping rates. It’s cost-prohibitive

Map of Vestur, see Bloodstone island on the coast, right middle.

.”

We are happy to announce we will be shipping book rate directly from Germany and we will not charge more than 15 EU for shipping to any EU country, and our goal is to bring it down even lower.

Of course, the books are completely written, the beautiful art completed, and the layouts finished. We’re going to get you the PDFs of the BloodStone Isle Gazetteer and Cyclopedia on Oct 18 or 19th, roughly fifteen days after the Kickstarter is finished, when the finances clear. You haven’t funded a book that still needs to be written, but one that is fully finished and realized. That’s why we can get you the PDFs as quickly as we can, and why we can get the printed books to you faster than almost anyone else.

This has been a solidly successful first Kickstarter, and we want to thank you for that, though it is only the first of many. It’s because of you that we have this success to build on. In a crowded field with a lot of derivative works, it’s very difficult to launch a new company with an innovative product, and yet here at the end we’re almost 150% funded, and that’s amazing. You put your faith in Mark Rein˖Hagen to deliver a solid tale of fantasy and horror, and we’re excited to deliver it to you.

Ahoy! May the winds of the Tempest blow you to safe harbors, and may Kra the Great Wave protect your eternal mote. We will toast our success in the taverns of Broken Gallows together one day. To success on the seven seas!

yours,

Jason & Jenna

Gen Con, Stretch Goals, and more!
over 2 years ago – Thu, Sep 23, 2021 at 04:19:46 PM

Success!

We just came back from Gen Con 2021 and it was an awesome experience to meet up with so many passionate RPG gamers and cosplayers!  Jason D Brandon ran six sessions of BloodStone Isle, and on Sunday he introduced our new system, the Badlander Handbook.  We truly appreciated all of the positive feedback, and we look forward to running again next year!

As of now, we have met and exceeded our Kickstarter goal for funding, and we are looking forward to reaching our stretch goals, first of which comes from Jamison Stone!  We met up him and Satine Pheonix during the convention as well, and they were just as much of a delight to work with in person as they are working with remotely.

Following are some pics we took from Gen Con 2021.  Thank you all for your continued support - ever onward toward the goals!

Sincerely,

John Gamel

We Did It! Goal Achieved!
over 2 years ago – Fri, Sep 17, 2021 at 03:54:24 AM

HUZZAH!

Thank you all, we did it! You guys are all so great, backing us to achieve our goal. I can't possibly thank you enough for helping give birth to the Lostlorn project. Bloodstone Isle is just beginning.

Of course, this is literally true in this Kickstarter as well, as now we get to head into the stretch goals... with 18 days left to "collect 'em all." So please, let your friends know this project is the real deal, that our PDFs are delivering right after the Kickstarter ends, and the books just a new months after that (Kra willing). If you can DM someone you know who loves Pirate and/or Vampires and tell them about this new way to RPG a story, and let's get everyone some really awesome free sh•t.

We've been working on this for so long, but it was you who made this happen, I wish you could fully understand how much that means to me. To be coming back to gaming and making another horror setting and series of games and campaign setting focusing on the monster.  I feel like I am coming home and it would not be in any way possible without the backing of every one of you, big numbers and small alike.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Rein•Hagen
